BERKELEY, Calif. - The University of Utah men's tennis team fell to the University of California 6-0 on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
The Golden Bears dominated the Utes in the singles. Senior Roeland Brateanu fell to Wayne Wong (6-3, 6-1) at the No. 1 spot and freshman Miron Mann lost to Balazs Veres (6-2, 6-2) at the No. 2. Cal crushed the middle of Utah's lineup as well when sophomore Tomasz Gryzb fell to Daniel Sebescen (7-6, 6-3) at the No. 3 and freshman Ryan Scott came up short against Tyler Brown (6-1, 6-0) at the No. 4. At the No. 5 Cal's Briaud downed freshman Dantley Young. The Golden Bears took the win at the No. 6 also when Jacob Leivent blanked freshman Jason Yap (6-3, 6-4).
