LAS VEGAS, Nev. - After repeated rain delays, the Utah men's tennis team finally saw one complete round at the ITA Region Championships. Thursday, Oct. 21 the Utes finished the first round singles. The second round continued late into the night.
Five Utes picked up wins in the singles and advanced to the second round.
Sophomore Miron Mann defeated Kamil Pajkowski of New Mexico (6-4, 6-2) and junior Tomasz Grzyb downed Beck Roghaar of BYU (6-3, 6-3). Sophomore Ryan Scott won (6-0, 7-5) over Air Force's Chris Dong.
Freshmen Zach Ganger and Dan Mascall also pulled out victories. Ganger took three sets to dispatch his New Mexico opponent Luis Avila (3-6, 6-0, 6-3). Mascall beat Idaho's Hector Mucharraz (6-4, 7-5).
