Ute Swimmers to Participate in SBAU Event

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah men's and women's swimming and diving team will be participating in the Spina Bifida Association of Utah swim party at the Fairmont Park Pool (1044 E. Sugarmont Drive) from 6-10 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 22. The event will begin with a picnic from 6-7 p.m. and a swim with the Utes from 7-10 p.m. More than 30 children that belong to the association are expected to attend.
Last season, the Utes spent nine weekends helping Ivy Petersen, a nine-year-old with Spina Bifida, learn to swim.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be asked by the SBAU to participate in this event," Head Coach Mike Litzinger says. "Working with Ivy last season was a great thing for our athletes, and of course, for Ivy. The opportunity to share our sport with such a special group of people is wonderful."
