THIS WEEK: The women's tennis team travels to Boise, Idaho to take on No. 45 Boise State. The Broncos are coming off a victory over Idaho, 5-2. This win marks their 26th consecutive home victory. The match will be held Sat, Apr. 20, at 11:00 a.m.
THE UTES: Last week, the women netters faced a difficult task in the BYU Cougars. Although the Utes were notched by their instate rival 5-2, they quickly regained confidence as the triumphed over Southern Utah, 7-0. Against SUU, freshman Ellen Svensson dowsed Katie Zobrist, 6-2, 6-2. This win increases Svensson's overall record to 17-11 on the season. Sheri Esrock etched Kendra Gleason in impressive form, 6-0, 6-2 and senior Irini Kotoglou beat out Ashlee Gardner in two straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
COMING UP: Utah will gear up for the Mountain West Conference tournament. The (9-12, 2-5) Utes are currently seeded fifth in the MWC. Tournament play begins Thurs., Apr. 25, in Provo, Utah. This event will last all day.
QUOTING TSUMAS: "We are looking forward to the upcoming match," says Tsumas. "We are going to try and work off the momentum of Irini (Kotoglou) and Ellen (Svensson)."
