Salt Lake City, Utah - Salt Lake City, Utah- Utah continued its home stand by downing the University of Portland 5-2 on Fri. Mar. 1. Utah moves to 6-5 on the year and remains undefeated at home (3-0).
In singles, Portland's Travis Parrott defeated Dave Mercier (6-2 ,6-2) at the one position. At the two, Corrie Scheepers downed Portland's Peter Malacek (1-6, 6-3, 6-3). Nik Yip beat Portland's Nick Tostenrude (6-4, 6-2) at the three. At the four, Portland's Quinn Borchard defeated Daniel Carlsson (6-4, 7-6, 7-6). Tyler Poulson downed Spencer Straub (7-6, 6-6, 7-6) at the five and Tobias Tangberg beat Portland's Ty Garrison (4-6, 6-4, 6-1) at the six.
In doubles, Mercier/Yip downed Portland's Parrott/Malacek (8-2) at the one, Portland's Borchard/Tostenrude defeated Carlsson/Poulson (8-2) at the two, and Tangberg/Scheepers beat Portland's Straub/Garrison (8-4) at the three.
