ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Casey Kelly tied the game on a 2-yard run with 46 seconds left in regulation, and Justin Millea scored on a 1-yard ran in the second overtime Saturday to lead New Mexico past Utah 42-35.
New Mexico (4-5, 2-1 Mountain West) has played three overtimes this season and was 0-2 until Saturday. The Lobos lost 45-44 to Utah State in overtime last week when freshman Kenny Byrd missed the tying PAT. New Mexico also lost in overtime to Air Force 36-30 last month.
Utah (2-6, 0-4 MWC) lost its sixth straight, its longest losing streak since an 0-7 start in 1986.
The Utes failed to force a third overtime when Brett Elliott threw incomplete on fourth-and-10 at the New Mexico 10-yard line.

Elliott, who threw four touchdown passes and was 26-of-39 for 440 yards, threw a 6-yard TD pass to J.D. Jorgensen in the first overtime and New Mexico countered with a 19-yard scoring run by Kelly.
Kelly forced the first overtime by taking the Lobos 49 yards in 10 plays and scoring from the 2. On the drive, Kelly ran for 10 yards and completed a pass to Zach Cresap to the Utah 3 on third-and-eight. Two plays later Kelly scored and Byrd tacked on the PAT to tie it at 28.
Utah had a chance to win it in regulation after Elliott hit Paris Jackson on a 29-yard pass to the Lobos' 34. With New Mexico's fans waving white hankies in the north end zone, Bryan Borreson's 52-yard field goal - with a 20-mph wind at his back - hooked right.
New Mexico, trailing 28-21 in the fourth quarter, lost an apparent touchdown when DonTrell Moore fumbled as he leaped into the end zone at the end of a 33-yard run. Utah's Sheldon Deckart recovered, but New Mexico's defense held to set up the game-tying touchdown drive in the final minute.
Elliott threw three touchdown passes in the first half, including a 73-yarder to Josh Lyman on the Utes' first play from scrimmage. Elliott added TD tosses of 47 yards to Jackson and 26 yards to Devin Houston in the second quarter.
New Mexico scored three times in the first half on an 80-yard pass from Kelly to Dwight Counter, an 11-yard TD pass from Kelly to Zach Cresap and a 33-yard run by Moore.
