The University of Utah men's and women's swimming teams both fell to Washington Saturday. The women finished with a score of 73-132, while the men score was 65-138. The women drop to 2-4 overall, while the men fall to 1-3 overall.
For the women, Kristen Kaiser took top honors in the 1000 free (10:19.66) and the 500 free (5:05.23). Neringa Statkeviciute finished first in the 50 free with a time of 24.18 and second in the 100 free (52.20), snapping her streak of five first place finishes in the event.
Cody Rempfer finished first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:52.25. Evan Castro finished second in the 200 free (1:45.55) and senior Daniel Godfrey finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.91.
The Utes will compete next week against MWC opponents New Mexico and Colorado State. Both meets with be held at Ute Natatorium.
