SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team remains strong as day three passes in Utah Invitational. Utah's own Linn Ronnberg and Irini Kotoglou defeated third-seeded Sarah Lowe and Caroline Pollock from Utah State, 8-4, to advance to the finals. Second-seeded Ronnberg and Kotoglou will face off against Weber State's Therina SteenKamp and Dana Delancey. First-seeded SteenKamp and Delancey defeated Utah's Cassie Kasteler and Ellen Svensson, 8-2.
The semifinals in singles play also resumed today. Seventh-seeded Sheri Esrock fell to fifth-seeded Delancey in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 6-3. The championship match will be against SteenKamp and Delancey.
The final day of the Utah Invitational will be played Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Doubles competition will square off at 1:00 p.m.
