Men's Tennis Team Competes at BYU Invitational

Provo, Utah - The University of Utah men's tennis team finished the final day of competition at the BYU Invitational on Sat., Oct. 6. Utah's David Mercier, the third-seeded player in the tournament, reached the finals where he suffered his only defeat to Carlos Lazano of BYU. In the first round, Mercier defeated Daniel Salvato of Weber State 6-1, 6-3 and advanced to the second round where he beat Jordan Butler of Utah State 6-0, 6-0. In the third round, he defeated Matias Silva of Boise State 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the tournament finals.
