THIS WEEK: The University of Utah women's tennis squad will host the Utah Invitational Oct. 4-7 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes will be facing off against Utah State, Southern Utah and Weber State.
THE UTES: Last year, Utah finished sixth, with at 4-6 record in the Mountain West Conference. The Utes finished the 2001 season with a 7-14 overall record. Utah returns four letterwinners and added four talented freshmen to the roster in 2001-02.
COMING UP: The Utes will travel to Provo, Utah to compete in the BYU Invitational. The tournament dates are: Oct. 11-13, times are all day.
QUOTING COACH John Tsumas: "This is the first event of the season. We have four freshmen this year and we are anxious to get them out there and see what they can do."
