PROVO, UTAH - Frida Kareld and Cassie Kasteler were the lone Utes to compete at the BYU Invitational this weekend. They played in the first flight of singles and paired up for No. 1 doubles. Kasteler was knocked out of the singles after losing 6-4, 6-3 to Renate Stoop of Boise State in the first match, then to Ana Moura of Washington State. Kareld faired the same dropping a pair of matches to Brooke Ferney of BYU, 7-6, 6-3 and to Wyoming's Jenny Bowman. The tandem of Jodi Richardson and Ferney downed the Ute pair in doubles.
