SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team will open the 2000-01 season this Friday and Saturday when it travels to the William H. Tucker tournament on the campus of the University of New Mexico. The UNM Championship Course will host 36 holes on Friday and 18 more on Saturday. Play will begin at 8 a.m. on both days. Utah will be sending senior Shawn Edwards, senior Ryan Ellis, junior Jason Shepherd, freshman Luke Swilor, and junior Paul Winterowd. Swilor and Winterowd will be competing in their first tournament as members of the Utah golf team. Other teams competing in the tournament include: Air Force, Arizona, Brigham Young, Colorado, Colorado State, Furman, Hawaii, Nevada-Las Vegas, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Southern California, Southeast Louisiana, Texas-El Paso, Texas Tech, and Wyoming.
