SALT LAKE CITY - Utah's Megan Payne-Dorny is hitting stride down the home strecth of the women's tennis season. She upset her third straight ranked opponent, defeating Whitney Laiho (No. 25) of Florida, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2. The Utes fell to 6-10 on the season with an 8-1 loss to the Gators.
Payne-Dorny has beaten two Florida No. 1's the past two years, last season downing the 1997 NCAA runner-up, MC White.
Utah couldn't overcome a star packed Florida lineup that has five top-60 players and a top-30 doubles team.
