The University of Utah cross country teams had strong performances at the Long Beach State Invitational. The men finished in first place with 22 points and the women finished second with 90 points.
B.J. Christenson finished first among Ute runners and second overall in 25:09. Erik Vernon completed the course in 25:33 for fifth place overall and second on the team.
Charity Catmull led the Ute women with a time of 18:43, placing her 12th overall and Trina Bateman finished 14th with a time of 18:55.
