SALT LAKE CITY -- Jamie Young, a former Ute player, has joined the Utah volleyball staff this season as an assistant coach. In addition to on-court instruction, Young's primary duties will include videotape editing, compilation of statistics and assisting in the Utes' recruiting efforts.
Young was both an outside hitter and a setter for the Utes from 1994-97, finishing her career ranked 10th all-time with 112 matches played and sixth with 758 career assists. She graduated from the U. with a bachelor's degree in parks, recreation and tourism in June.
The West Valley, Utah, native is a graduate of Hunter High School, and was a regional MVP and an all-state selection as a senior in 1993.
