This Week: The University of Utah women's tennis team (6-9) finishes regular-season play against No. 28 New Mexico in Albuquerque Sunday, April 25 at noon.
About the Lobos: New Mexico hopes to extend a 28-match home win streak to 29 against the Utes. The Lobos are 17-4 and are led by No. 94 Ana Friganovic. The Lobos hope to keep home momentum running into the WAC Championships, in which will be held in their backyard.
About the Utes: A young injury plagued Utah team has not found much comfort in an overbearing schedule, as the Utes have a 6-9 mark going into the final regular-season match. Megan Payne has had arguably the best season ever by a Ute, and remains the backbone of a Utah squad with four freshmen, with an 18-5 record.
Previously: Las Vegas, Nevada-UNLV continued a hot streak against an inconsistent University of Utah women's tennis team, 7-2 in Las Vegas. Linn Ronnberg and Heidi Thomas earned the only Ute victories at No. 3 and No. 5 singles respectively. Ronnberg downed Susie Kocsis, 6-4, 6-2, while Thomas battled Britta Gobl for a 7-6, 6-3 win.
