PROVO, Utah - Senior Jeff Simonich (31:25.9) was the top finisher for the men's cross country team placing second in the 10k at the NCAA Mountain Region meet on Saturday. Travis Hildebrand (32:33.0) and Mark Bunker (33:02.1) finished 22nd and 36th respectively, to give the Utes a sixth place team finish.
Junior Johanna Nielsen (18:32.9) placed 19th, giving her the highest women's finish for Utah. Brooke Babbitt (19:23.6) placed 42nd and Tara Tidwell (19:32.6) placed 55th to give the women a ninth place finish. Jeff Simonich qualified to compete in the NCAA Championships held Nov. 23 in Lawrence, Kansas.
