Utes Fall In Utah Intercollegiate Tournament

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah Intercollegiate Tournament kicked off on Oct. 8 and will run through the tenth at the Sports Mall in Salt Lake City. Advancing to the semifinals was BYU's Gert Vilms, Damien Ward, David White and Nic Losee. In doubles play, Ward and Vilms will meet fellow Cougars Losee and Carlos Lozano in the finals. The Utes played with a split team as Ashley Dyer and David Mercier traveled to Tempe, Ariz. to compete in a regional tournament. Other Utah players competing in Salt Lake this weekend are Kevin Zenger, Patrik Wallebring, Nik Yip, Trevor Ferguson and Kaisorn Chaichana. Freshman Tyler Poulson sat out the invitational due to knee surgery.
