Trina Lee began her academic advising journey first as an intern with Utah Athletics in August 2024. She then transitioned into a full-time capacity role December 2024 and currently works with the men’s and women’s swim & dive team, as well as the women’s cross-country and track & field teams. Lee is passionate about helping student-athletes discover their “why” and believes in the holistic formation of student-athletes and in helping them achieve academic success, as well as prepare for life after sport.
Previous to joining the University of Utah Athletics staff, Lee, originally from Mililani, HI, is a University of Utah alum and earned her bachelors of science degree in both Psychology and Anthropology in May 2006. Lee then began working as an early childhood educator for the next 13 years and worked for organizations such as Neighborhood House and Utah Community Action—Head Start program, based in Salt Lake City. Lee then had the opportunity to work with secondary aged students at Juan Diego Catholic High School as an academic advisor and psychology teacher for three years in Draper, UT. In this role, Lee was able to build relationships with young people and become a mentor to them.
Trina and her husband Parker, have three children (two daughters and a son) and two dogs. Trina will be graduating with her masters of science degree in academic advising from Kansas State University in August 2025.
