Scott Halasz is entering his sixth season as associate head coach for the Utes and third season under the direction of head coach Hideki Nakada. The 2023 campaign will be his 11th overall year in Salt Lake City.
The Utes made the NCAA Tournament in Halasz's first season, 2013. He then helped them to the best finish in program history during the 2016 campaign. In 2019, Halasz helped guide Utah in its return to the NCAA Championships, marking his third appearance to the tournament as a member of the Ute staff.
Halasz has worked with 10 All-Pac-12 performers and seven United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees that includes at least one selection from 2015-19.
The Seattle native joined the Utes after serving as an assistant at Pacific Lutheran University. Halasz has over 20 years of coaching experience and also served as a coach with the Washington Premier soccer club. He was also the Washington Premier ECNL Director and coached numerous Washington state ODP and EDP teams.
A men’s soccer assistant coach at Tacoma Community College from 2005-07, Halasz graduated from Seattle University in 2003.
