SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Women's basketball guard
Lani White was selected by the Minnesota Lynx in the third round 45th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
White, an Irvine, Calif. native, is the eighth athlete from Utah to be drafted to the WNBA. She is Utah's first player to be drafted for head coach Gavin Petersen.
In her senior season at Utah, she led the team in scoring with her 15.9 points per game average. She wracked up 509 total points in the season. She led the team in made three pointers with 72 total averaging 2.25 a game.
She led the team shooting 46.2 percent from the field this year and knocked down 172 field goals. She also led the team in three point percentage with 40.4 percent from beyond the arc and shot 83.0 percent from the free throw line. She averaged 4.7 rebounds per game and recorded 49 assists.
White is the third Ute to get drafted by the Lynx as Alissa Pili got drafted by the Lynx in 2024 and Shona Thorburn was drafted by the Lynx in 2006. White is the third Ute to get drafted by the Lynx.
