IRVING, Texas -- The Utah Utes were well-represented when the Big 12 Conference released its 2024-25 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie and 2025 Spring Academic All-Big 12 teams on Tuesday. The Utes made a splash both in competition and in the classroom in their first year in the Big 12 Conference, and this week's awards bring to a close the year's accolades released by the league office.
A total of 56 Utah Utes from seven Big-12 sponsored sports earned recognition on the Spring Academic All-Big 12 team. Utah's men's lacrosse team has affiliate membership in the ASUN Conference, and is not represented among the sports honored this spring. The full list can be found

The Big 12 Academic All-Rookie team for 2024-25Â featured 76 Utah Utes -- second-most among the 16 conference members -- who met the qualifications of being new, first-time/incoming freshmen who completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial coursework and achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Utah Athletics achieved excellence in competition, the classroom and community in 2024-25, tying for the best graduation success rate (GSR) in department history with a score of 95-percent in the NCAA GSR metric. That figure tied for the second-highest rate among all power conference public schools, and marked the seventh consecutive year at 93-percent or better. Twelve teams achieved perfect 100-percent scores. In addition,Â
87 student-athletes graduated in either fall 2024, spring 2025 or summer 2025, and the Utes recorded the third-highest combined Fall & Spring AverageÂ
GPA of 3.387 in 2024-25. The Fall GPA was
third-highest on record – 3.402, and the Spring GPA was
sixth-highest all-time – 3.371.
The Utah Ski Team won the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in the past five years, and sixth time in the past eight years, increasing its all-time total to 17 national championships. Gymnastics finished in the top four at the NCAA Championships for the fifth year in a row, and stands as the only gymnastics program in the NCAA to compete in all 49 national championship meets.
