Both players honored for academic excellence
SALT LAKE CITY – The College Sports Communicators released its annual list of Academic All-District selections on Tuesday and Utah's Hailee White and Jolie Mayfield were among those who earned a spot on the roster.
White served as a team captain for Utah in 2025 and made 51 starts. In the field, she helped the Utes pile up 36 double plays, a figure that leads the nation, her 110 assists rank seventh in the Big 12 and she made just one error in better than 90 chances in conference play in 2025. Her numbers at the plate included a .280 batting average in Big 12 competition and she accomplished all this while crafting a 3.83 GPA as she pursues a degree in Psychology.
Mayfield was a consistent presence in Utah's lineup in 2025 and finished the year fourth on the team in batting average, tied for second in triples and third in walks. Her season included seven multi-hit games, with one of those multi-hit performances coming on March 15 at Arizona, when she blasted two homers, including a grand slam. In the classroom, Mayfield owns a 3.85 GPA while studying for a degree in Health and Kinesiology.
