Utes fall in final two Pac-12 regular season matches
SEATTLE – Utah Beach Volleyball wrapped up their final Pac-12 regular season weekend taking on Stanford and Arizona State. Utah opened up the second day of action against the Cardinal from Stanford, falling 5-0. Looking ahead to the afternoon match against Arizona State, the Utes would drop their second match of the day, falling to the Sun Devils, 5-0.
Utah saw a three-set battle on the second court, in the first match of the day against Stanford, as the pairing of Bella Vezzani and Rylee Johnson fell, 14-21, 23-21, 15-11. The duo of Milan Ray and Sonja Wessel put up a fight on the fifth court, falling, 21-15, 21-16. On the fourth court, bouncing back from a 21-7 first set, Kylie Pitzak and Marissa Koch took the second set to a 24-22 finish.
Heading back to the court against Arizona State, the duo of Vezzani and Johnson found themselves in a three-set battle once again. The Ute pairing took the first set 21-9, before dropping the final two sets, 21-19, 15-8. With a new pairing taking the court on the fifth court, Utah saw Ray joined by Azure McOmber take their first set to a 30-28 final, before dropping the final set 21-10. The duo of Pitzak and Koch battled on the fourth court, falling to their opponents from Arizona State, 21-16, 21-19.
