Offense
Freshman Isaac Wilson made his sixth start of the season at quarterback. Wilson's six starts this season are the second most by a true freshman quarterback in Utah's recorded history, trailing only Travis Wilson (7 in 2012).
Wilson set a new career-best with 21 completions.
Wide receiver Zacharyus Williams made his first collegiate catch (16 yards) during the second quarter.
Wide receiver Munir McClain made a nine-yard reception in the third quarter, a season-long for McClain.
Wilson had a 21-yard completion to tight end Landen King in the third quarter; it was King's first reception of the year.
Wide receiver Dorian Singer caught a season-long 40-yard touchdown late in the third quarter; it is Singer's first receiving touchdown as a Ute. It quickly capped off Utah's fifth one-play scoring drive of the season.
Tight end Carsen Ryan set a season-long with his 23-yard catch in the fourth quarter.
Ryan's four catches and 78 receiving yards were both a career-high.
Micah Bernard set a new career-high with six receptions.
Quarterback Luke Bottari recorded his first completion of the season with a five-yard toss to Mike Mitchell, his first career reception, that resulted in a first down.
Tight end Caleb Lohner caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Wilson; all four of Lohner's career receptions have been touchdowns.
Spencer Fano caught a successful two-point conversion attempt after this touchdown; it's the first successful two-point conversion for Utah since the Utah State game on Sept. 14, 2024.
Defense
On the very first play of the game, linebacker Lander Barton came up with an interception and returned it 17 yards. It was Barton's first pick of the season and third of his career (first since the Cal game on Oct. 14, 2023).
It was the first time a Ute had an interception on the first play from scrimmage since the UCLA game on Sept. 23, 2023 (Karene Reid pick-six).
Utah has not allowed points on its opponent's game-opening drive in nine of 10 games this season.
Defensive end Logan Fano made a three-yard sack during the first quarter. It is Fano's second straight game with at least an assisted sack and second straight game with at least 1.0 TFL.
Cornerback Cameron Calhoun came up with his first TFL as a Ute late in the first quarter.
Linebacker Karene Reid made a 14-yard sack during the second quarter; he now has a sack in back-to-back games and at least 0.5 TFL in four straight games.
Calhoun earned his first PBU of the game during the second quarter; he has at least one PBU in five of the last six games.
Defensive tackle Junior Tafuna covered up a CU fumble during the second quarter; it is his third career recovery and first since the Oregon game in 2023.
Linebacker Johnathan Hall reset his career-high tackles (previously 5) late in the third quarter.
Special Teams
Cole Becker connected on a 32-yard field goal to cap Utah's opening offensive drive of the game. It was the fourth time this season the Utes have scored on their first drive of the game.
Becker's field goal put him over 250 points in his collegiate career.
Becker added a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter; it makes today his fourth game of the season with multiple field goals made.
Becker's 47-yard field goal as the first half expired made today his third game of the season with at least three field goals (3 at Utah State; 3 at Oklahoma State; 4 at Arizona State).
His three makes in the first half bring Becker to 15 field goals made on the season, tying his season-high of 15 makes during the 2023 season.
In his two seasons as a Ute, Becker has made 30 field goals, putting him ninth in program history.
Just before his third-quarter receiving touchdown, Singer had a 17-yard kickoff return which tied the longest by a Ute this season.
