SALT LAKE CITY – Friday's Utah women's basketball game against Arizona State, that was scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off, has been canceled and ruled a forfeit in favor of No. 10/8 Utah. Arizona State was forced to forfeit both of its games this weekend due to player unavailability within the Sun Devil program, for injury reasons.
Per Pac-12 policy, the game will count as a win for the Utes in the Pac-12 standings. Per NCAA policy, the game will not affect the teams' overall records.
Utah (14-1; 3-1 Pac-12) will turn its attention to a big Top-15 showdown on Sunday against No. 14/10 Arizona, which brings a record of 14-2 (4-1 Pac-12) into the game. Tickets for the game are available online at

Utah is the nation's No. 4 scoring team (87.3 ppg), one of four major statistical categories in which the Utes boast a top-4 ranking: 2nd in field-goal percentage (50.2); 3rd in scoring margin (+27.9) and 4th in scoring (87.3) and assists (19.5).
The recently announced
"Utes Beyond the Paint" Community Series will debut this week and feature a number of in-game elements at Sunday's game against Arizona. The series engages fans with the program in helping to serve critical needs in the community.
- The series debuts this week in support of the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Information on how to donate and serve will be available throughout the arena
- Other in-venue features include the honorary Coach of the Game from the Hope Lodge, and the giveaways are Utah stickers and red light sticks.
Sunday's game against Arizona will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
