Beach Volleyball Ends the Season Strong at Pac-12 Championships

The Utah beach volleyball team had a strong showing in the PAC-12 Championships, but eventually fell to Oregon and Washington to finish the season.
LOS ANGELES- The Utah beach volleyball team had a strong showing in the PAC-12 Championships, but eventually fell to Oregon and Washington to finish the season. Utah started off in the morning against Oregon, losing in a close 3-2 match and went on to take on Washington, losing 3-0.
The Utes put up a fight against Oregon, winning both matches on the first two courts. Marissa Koch and Grace Andrews led on the first court and beat out the competition in a final set of 15-12 after winning the first set 21-15.
Sage Patchell and Olivia Teerlink also came out on top, winning the firs t set 21-12 and the second 21-18. Camille Lee and Keana Smalls took the game to three sets, but lost the match in a close 16-14 final match.
The Pac-12 tournament is a double elimination tournament, meaning Utah went and faced Washington in the afternoon after the close match up against Oregon. Mia Kowalczyk and Joana Saucedo Mondragon had a close second match, but eventually fell 21-18.Â
With the two losses today, Utah ends the 2021 season.
