HONOLULU – The Utah beach volleyball team faced Nebraska to close out competition in Honolulu on Sunday. The Utah Utes fell 5-0 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Queen's Beach.
Utah's top duo,
Adora Anae and
Dani Barton, fell 2-0 to Justine Wong-Orantes and Andie Malloy. In the No. 2 position,
Bailey Choy and
Eliza Katoa battled tough in three sets, but fell to Annika Albrecht and Olivia Boender, 2-1.
Both the No. 3 and No. 4 positions for the Utes went to three sets also, but could not come out with the win, falling 2-1. The Utes' No. 3 duo,
Torre Glasker and
Carly Trueman, fell to Kelly Hunter and Lauren Stivrins, while
Tawnee Luafalemana and
Brianna Doehrmann fell to Kenzie Maloney and Mikaela Foecke in the No. 4 position.
In the No. 5 position,
Berkeley Oblad and
Emily Twohig fell 2-0 to Brooke Smith and Sydney Townsend.
Utah will be back on the sand to compete at the Pac-12 Championships in Tucson, Ariz. The conference tournament will begin Friday, April 28.
