#22/23 UTAH vs. ARIZONA STATE Post Game Notes
Thursday, Feb. 25 | Jon M. Huntsman Center | Salt Lake City, Utah
Utah 81, Arizona State 46
• Utah improved to 22-7 overall and 11-5 in Pac-12 play with its 35-point victory over the Sun Devils. The Utes are now in sole possession of second-place in the conference standings, as of Feb. 25.
• Utah picked up its fourth straight win over Arizona State, while improving to 31-20 all-time against the Sun Devils. The Utes defeated ASU for the 10th straight time at home and are now 19-5 when playing the Sun Devils in Salt Lake City. ASU's last win against Utah in Salt Lake City came back on Jan. 11, 1975.
• In two seasons against ASU at home, the Utes have held the Sun Devils to just 19 total points in the first half. Utah limited ASU to just 10 points in the first half on Thursday. It was the fourth-lowest point total for an opponent in a half. Utah held the Sun Devils to just nine points in the first half in it home game last season.
• Utah opened the game with five straight three-pointers and would then go on to take a 30-2 lead before ASU called its first timeout of the game. ASU scored its first bucket at the 15;21 mark, but then did not score again until 5:08 was left on the clock in the first half.
• The Utes finished the game shooting .444 (28-of-3) from the field, .400 (16-of-40) from downtown and .643 (9-of-14) from the free throw line.
• Utah's 16 three-pointers made are the second-most in school history, just one shy of the school record 17 three-pointers made (vs. UNLV, Jan. 12, 2002). The 40 three-point attempts ties the all-time school record that was previously set back on March 1, 2003 (at New Mexico).
• ASU was limited to just 4-of-28 from the field in the first half for just a .143 shooting percentage, which ranks as the fourth-lowest field goal percentage for an opponent in a half. The Sun Devils finished the game shooting just .250 (15-of-60) from the field the entire game, which is a new season-low for a Utah opponent this season.
• Utah forced 15 ASU turnovers and outscored the Sun Devils 25-2 in points off turnovers.
• Sophomore Brekkott Chapman scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. He was one rebound shy of a double-double.
• Brandon Taylor (12 points) and Jordan Loveridge (14 points) accounted for eight of Utah's 16 three-pointers. Both players finished with four three-pointers each.
• Utah's defense limited ASU's leading scorer, Tra Holder, to zero points on 0-of-6 shooting. Holder came into the game averaging a team-best 15.1 points per game.
