No. 13 Utah moves to 8-1 and 5-1 in Pac-12 Conference play with a 34-23 win at Washington. Utah is now 1-8 all-time against Washington in the team's first game at Husky Stadium since 1979. The Utes are 19-23 in league games as a member of the Pac-12 Conference.
Senior running back Devontae Booker had 150 rushing yards (34 carries) to earn his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season and now has 1,116 yards this season. He also rushed for a 4-yard touchdown.
There have been three players in school history with multiple 1,000-yard seasons: Booker (2014 and 2015), Eddie Johnson (1984 and 1986) and John White (2011 and 2012). Booker and White being the only players in school history to achieve the feat in a 2-year career. There have been 15, 1,000-yard rushing seasons in school history by 12 different players.
Booker has six 100-yard rushing games this season and 13 over his career, which is second in school history. Booker leads the team with 10 rushing TDs this season and his 20 career rushing touchdowns is tied for sixth in school history. Booker ended with a team-high 171 all-purpose yards after adding 21 receiving yards (two catches).
Senior linebacker Gionni Paul participated in two takeaways and had two returns totaling 81 yards. He had an interception, his third this season and the sixth of his career, which he returned 27 yards to go with a 54-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Paul had nine tackles, including a team-high two sacks.
Redshirt freshman Chase Hansen made his first career start at strong safety and had a team-high 11 tackles in addition to a forced fumble.
Senior linebacker Jared Norris had 10 tackles for his third game with 10 or more tackles this season. He has 10 career double-figure tackle games. Norris also had 1.0 TFL and also forced a fumble.
Senior quarterback Travis Wilson made his seventh start of the season (owns the school record with 35 career starts). He is 7-1 as the starter (22-13 career). Wilson threw for 155 yards (1 INT). He is third in school history with 51 career touchdown passes, 580 completions and total offense yards (6,739).
Wilson was also the team's second-leading rusher with 10 attempts for 42 yards and two touchdowns. He is second on the team with six this season and he has 20 over his career, which is tied for sixth in school history. He has accounted for 71 total career touchdowns, which is second in school history.
Andy Phillips went 2-for-3 in field goals with makes from 43 and 36 yards (miss from 45 yards). He is now 15-for-169 this season and is second in school history with 55 career made field goals (55-of-67). He was 4-for-4 on PAT attempts.
Five different Utes caught passes, led by freshman Britain Covey had 69 receiving yards (five catches).
Tom Hackett averaged 39.5 yards on four punts (158 yards) with two downed inside the 20-yard line.
Utah held a 17-3 edge in points off turnovers over the Huskies.
