About Fans Going to the Las Vegas Bowl
"It's good timing for our fans because it won't interfere with their Christmas holiday and it (Las Vegas) is easily accessible. Our men's basketball team is also playing in Vegas (on Dec. 20) against UNLV. They're having a terrific season so far, so that also makes Las Vegas a great destination for our fans.
About Colorado State
"We will watch film tonight, but from looking at the statistics, Colorado State has a lot of weapons on offense in (quarterback Garrett Grayson, running back Dee Hart and receiver Rashard Higgins). They are very explosive on offense and a very good football team. They will be a big challenge, but we are very excited to play them. We had a good idea we may get this game and started on some breakdowns, but we have not watched any film yet."
On the Team's Schedule
"We'll practice Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday of this week and the week of the bowl game will be like a normal week of practice since it is on a Saturday."
The Timing of a Pre-Christmas Bowl Game
"There are advantages to both (a pre and post-Christmas bowl). We won't get in as many practices (as a post-Christmas game), but we'll still get nine practices in. The main concern for me is that it's finals' week. We still need to get all the details to figure out how we'll handle that."
The Benefits of Playing in a Bowl
"It's great to be back playing in the postseason. One of the biggest benefits is the extra practice work for the younger players. It's almost like another spring camp. Having the seniors play in a bowl game is huge.
On Utah's Success in Bowls
"Our guys have historically done a great job of preparing. It's a reward for the guys and there are a lot of activities, but at the same time, you don't want to go down with any other mission than to win the game."
