WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Led by first-team selection Devontae Booker and five second-team selections, 23 Utah players were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, announced today by the conference.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and appear in at least 50-percent of his team's games.
Booker, a junior sociology major who currently ranks second in the conference in rushing (114.1 average), has a 3.38 grade point average.
Four of Utah's five second-team all-academic picks play for the defense. Sophomore defensive end Hunter Dimick (3.12/communication), sophomore linebacker Marcus Sanders-Williams (3.56/undeclared), senior safety Brian Blechen (3.16/sociology) and senior corner Eric Rowe (3.21/business administration) were joined on the second team by sophomore snapper Chase Dominguez (3.76/undeclared).
Earning honorable mention honors were sophomore defensive back Brian Allen, senior receiver Dres Anderson, freshman defensive back Evan Eggiman, sophomore tight end Siale Fakailoatonga, senior linebacker Jacoby Hale, senior defensive tackle Sese Ianu, sophomore receiver Delshawn McClellon, freshman defensive tackle Filipo Mokofisi, junior linebacker Jared Norris, sophomore kicker Andy Phillips, junior running back Bubba Poole, senior offensive lineman Marc Pouvave, senior offensive lineman Junior Salt, sophomore linebacker Pita Taumoepenu, freshman offensive lineman Salesi Uhatafe, junior punter Chris Van Orden, and junior quarterback Travis Wilson. Honorable mention recipients were not limited to one per position, as was the case with the first and second teams.
