INDIANAPOLIS--
The NCAA announced today the field and rotation order for the two semifinal sessions of the 2012 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship on Friday, April 20 in Duluth, Ga. Three teams from each semifinal will advance into the Super Six team finals on Saturday, April 21. The individual championships are scheduled for Sunday, April 22.
Utah is one of four Pac-12 teams to qualify for the 12-team NCAA Championships. The others are UCLA, Oregon State and Stanford.
As the seventh seed, Utah will compete in the afternoon semifinal on April 20 at noon Eastern Time (10 a.m. Mountain Time) with No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 10 Stanford and No. 11 LSU. The evening semifinal at 6 p.m. ET features No. 1 Florida, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 Oregon State and No. 12 Ohio State.
Utah will start the meet on floor and its last event will be beam, which was its same competitive rotation at last week's NCAA Regional, which the Utes won. Utah will actually end the NCAA semifinal on a bye after beam. Rotating with the Utes will be individual at-large qualifier Aubree Cristello of Arizona.
Seeding into the championships was determined by National Qualifying Score, which is calculated by adding a team's Regional Qualifying Score to its score at Regionals.
