SALT LAKE CITY - Utah senior wide receiver Luke Matthews has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Matthews will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
Matthews, who earned his degree in communication in May of 2012, has a 3.69 grade point average. A two-year team captain, he has played in 47 of 48 games in his career with 27 starts. This season Matthews has 10 catches for 127 yards for a 12.7 average. He has five career touchdowns.
Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA, a 2,000-member organization consisting of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
