SALT LAKE CITY
Utah true freshman safety Eric Rowe was named to a pair of Freshman All-America teams today. Rowe is a first-team Freshman All-American by CFN/Scout.com and a second-team Yahoo! Sports Freshman All-American. Rowe, who has started all 12 games this season, has nine pass breakups and 10 passes defended, both which rank in the top-10 in the Pac-12 Conference. He is Utah's fourth-leading tackler with 66 stops and also has 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and an interception.
Rowe and the Utes are preparing for the Hyundai Sun Bowl in El Paso on Dec. 31. The Utes will hold eight more practices in Salt Lake City before taking a short holiday break. They'll travel to El Paso on Dec. 26, where they will hold a practice before participating in their first bowl-week function.
