SALT LAKE CITY
> Utah (7-5, 4-5 Pac-12) awaits word on its bowl destination. It will be the 10th bowl game in 11 years for the Utes, including all seven years under head coach Kyle Whittingham.
> Whittingham is assured of his seventh winning season in as many years as Utah's head coach. He has averaged nine wins a season and is 6-1 in bowl games (including a victory as co-head coach of the 2005 Fiesta Bowl team).
> Utah was in contention for the Pac-12 South division title until the final game of the season when the Utes lost to Colorado 17-14 on Nov. 25.
> In its first year in the Pac-12, Utah tied for the fourth-best overall record in the league at 7-5 and finished in the middle of the pack in league games (4-5). Utah was 3-0 in non-conference play with wins over Montana State, Brigham Young and Pittsburgh.
> Utah has won four of its last five games heading into postseason play.
> Utah's 12-4 all-time bowl record includes a string of nine-straight postseason victories that ended with last year's loss to Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl. Utah's nine-game win streak (1999, 2001, 2003-2009) is tied for the second-longest of all time with USC, whose wins spanned from 1923-45. Florida State holds the record with 11 consecutive bowl wins (1985-96).
> The current senior class has 19 members (15 have played this season and eight came as freshmen) and a 40-11 overall record, which is tied for the second-most wins by a senior class (with 2009). The school record was set by the 2010 class with a 41-9 record.
