BIG SKY, Mont. - Ryan Wilson took first place in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Alpine Qualifier in the giant slalom held Friday at Big Sky, Mont.
Wilson posted Utah's top finish after posting a time of 1:52.29. Eian Sandvik also turned in a top-five finish, in fifth place with a time of 1:53.97. Nick Cohee placed eighth in 1:54.54, followed by Torjus Krogdahl in 11th at 1:54.77.
Sofia Smith finished third with a time of 1:55.15 and was followed by Eva Huckova in 14th after posting a time of 1:56.50. Tii-Maria Romar took 17th in 1:56.78 while Anna Kocken rounded out Utah's presence in the top 20 in 19th with a time of 1:57.08.
The Montana State Invitational begins tomorrow will begin tomorrow. The nordic freestyle races will start at 9 a.m., and the giant slalom events are slated to begin at 9:45 a.m.
