Terrance Cain went 20-for-23 passing for a school-record .869 completion percentage. He bested the previous record of .857 (18-of-21) set by current Utah assistant Brian Johnson against Utah State in 2005.

Terrance Cain went 6-for-6 on Utah's final drive of the first half for 68 yards. Shaky Smithson returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown, his second-straight game with a punt return for a touchdown. He is tied for second in school history for punt returns for touchdowns in a season with two (Steve Odom, 1972 and 1973; Erroll Tucker, 1985). Steve Smith (three, 1999) holds the school record.
Shaky Smithson had 140 yards on four punt returns. The 140 yards ranks third in a game in school history.
Smithson had 223 total return yards (both kick and punt returns).
Jereme Brooks scored his fourth receiving touchdown of the season in the third quarter, a career-long 75 yard pass from Terrance Cain. The pass was Utah's longest offensive play of the year. Brooks had 99 yards receiving to lead Utah.
Griff Robles made his first career appearance at quarterback in the fourth quarter. He did not attempt a pass, but ended as Utah's leading rusher with six attempts for 64 yards, including a 47-yard run on his first series.
Joe Phillips went 8-for-8 in PATs, which is tied for second all-time at Utah with five other players. It is the most PATs kicked in a game since Louie Sakoda kicked nine against San Diego State in 2008.
Matt Asiata scored his first touchdown of the season in the first quarter on a 1-yard run. He has 17 career rushing touchdowns.
Dallin Rogers scored his first touchdown of the season on a 1-yard catch. It was his first touchdown catch since 2007 (he was on a mission from 2008-09). He has two career touchdowns.
Matt Martinez made the first interception of his career in the third quarter, scoring the first touchdown of his career with a 36-yard return on the play.
The Utah defense went six consecutive quarters without allowing a touchdown before New Mexico scored an offensive touchdown in the third quarter.
DeVonte Christopher scored his second touchdown of the season in the third quarter on a 33-yard catch.
Utah scored four touchdowns in the third quarter.
Tauni Vakapuna scored his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 24-yard run.
