TRUCKEE, Calif. - Anna Kocken and Torjus Krogdahl each finished sixth in the RMISA alpine qualifier slalom races on Sunday afternoon at Sugar Bowl ski resort.
Kocken skied a time of 1:27.31. Combined with her seventh-place run in the event yesterday, her strong weekend puts her in a good position to qualify for NCAA's. Sofia Smith was 20th in 1:31.41.
For the men, Krogdahl earned his fifth top-six finish of the season in the slalom with a time of 1:27.35. Max Lamb had his best finish of the year in the event with a seventh-place run (1:27.44). Thomas Zumbrunn placed 18th with a time of 1:29.54.
"It's awesome to see us have some really strong finishes today," Director of Skiing Eli Brown said. "This takes the pressure off the alpine team qualifying so we can just focus on skiing faster!"
The Utes have a quick turnaround this week, heading to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for the RMISA/NCAA West Regional meet, which begins on Friday, Feb. 26.
