Interim Head Coach Anthony Levrets
On Michelle Plouffe and Brittany Knighton's performances:
"I'm really proud of them. This was Brittany Knighton's first start as a collegiate player. I think she is going to be a really, really good player. She responded offensively and she did a great job of leading, and she was 4-6 from the floor and 6-7 from the line."
On not having Michelle Plouffe at the end:
"Yes, but [Marjorie Heard] made that shot. All night long we're playing her and their guards are good at getting to the rim, getting in the paint and our biggest job was to protect first. Coming out of that timeout we didn't think that they were going to run a three to #40 and that's not what they tried to do but we guarded them really well and did exactly what we needed to do. Then they threw it to #40 and she made a shot. So, you know, sometimes that is the way it goes.
"We didn't lose the game because of anything that happened poorly on that possession. We turned the ball over 23 times and gave up 13 offensive rebounds and that's why there was an opportunity now."
On not having Taryn Wicijowski:
"I told the kids this, I told everybody this-you go through a whole offseason, you go through a whole preseason, you go through thirty practices and three games with everybody being comfortable in their role as a player, it doesn't matter who it is, especially if it's a player that scores that many points and gets that many rebounds, and everyone has to change their roles and their thinking.
"We only had one practice before we had to leave for Cancun to play and we've had one practice since we got back and that's it. We have people playing in positions that they've never played before, and it looked like it. We looked unorganized, we looked...we don't look like what we need to look like and its going to take us a little while, I think."
On making her first collegiate start:
"It was pretty nerve-wracking but it was really exciting at the same time. It was a different position but you kind of had to step up and fill your role."
On bouncing back after a tough loss:
"I think we just need to practice really hard and get our minds cleared and not worry about games we've lost and just look forward towards the next opponent we play.
On feeling pressure with Taryn Wicijowski out:
"I mean, I'm expected to do what I was doing before I just get moved around. I talked with my coach and he said there was no more pressure on me but I've just got to execute what I need to execute. Do the same thing on the outside as I did on the inside, just do what I'm supposed to do, no more pressure."
On where success came on the offense:
"I was getting that high-post shot a lot and our offense was just spread out so I had places to shoot, and if that didn't happened I wouldn't."
