Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
On the win:
"This was big win for this program. We have a lot of respect for Michigan and what their program has accomplished. Coach Beilein is a heck of a coach, but we are thankful for this win and we are going to continue to get better and prepare for Saturday."
On the play of Marshall Henderson:
"He is so willing to be `the guy'. To come in as a freshman he has to learn how to play with the rest of the team, but he has guts and he's intelligent. I told him in the first half, at the four-minute timeout, that he was going to have to start driving the ball and he did. He drove the ball in and got two assists. He is very intelligent and talented and you can see what that combination can do for a player."
On the importance of winning the loose ball battle:
"We were up five loose balls at halftime and we won the loose ball game the second half, and that's what this team has to do. Those who have been following us understand that we have had leads in the second half, we have had leads dissipate and that we haven't got the loose balls to push the lead back up. I thought we did that tonight and I am proud of my group."
On the team's blocked shots:
"We had seven blocks and he's [Foster] there and terrific at it. He is very willing to learn and our defense funnels people to him. He's always ready for it and we have seen him grow as a player."
Freshman guard Marshall Henderson
On the win:
"It was awesome. I've been waiting for a game like this since I got here. I know I am capable of doing it and it was great to have this win against Michigan."
Sophomore center David Foster
On blocking shots and gathering the loose balls:
"I think that it is just a matter of playing smart and making sure I have my hands up at all times. I have to make sure I don't draw the foul and that I also go for the ball. If I can block the ball and get the rebound, it's a win-win situation. If I can't, I have teammates that can back me up and help me."
"I think that narrowing and zeroing in, making sure that I am mentally there and focused on who their drivers are. The coaches do a great job with their scouting reports, so I know who is going to drive the ball and who is going to shoot it."
Michigan Head Coach John Beilein
"Their big kid [David Foster] there was an incredible difference in the game. Sometimes we would have really great looks and he just changes them. That blocked shot of Laval [Lucas-Perry] there was a real game-changer."
"We have to get better, we have to get a whole lot better. They missed 17 shots in the first half and they got 10 offensive rebounds, it just doesn't work. It's something that we work at and work at and we just do not do it in games, and we just got to keep working at it."
