-Junior guard Carlon Brown scored 21 points to lead the Utes, making a career-high four three pointers (4-of-5) and tying a career-best eight field goals (8-of-12). He was one point shy of tying his career high in points (22, twice). It was his third 20+ point game of his career, all coming this year. Brown has scored double digits in nine of 12 games this year, including the last four straight.
-Freshman guard Marshall Henderson hit the 20-point mark for the second time this year and the second time in four games (also had 22 vs. Michigan). Henderson was 7-of-16 from the field, including 3-of-11 from three-point range. He was a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line. Henderson has scored double-digits in five games this year.
-Redshirt freshman center Jason Washburn played a career-high 31 minutes, scoring eight points on 4-of-6 shooting. His season field goal percentage of .644 is the highest on the squad. Washburn also added six rebounds, including four on the offensive glass, and recorded two blocks.
-Sophomore guard Jace Tavita tied his career-high of four points, set in the previous game against Illinois State. He also grabbed two rebounds and made one steal.
-Utah did a very good job defensively on Pepperdine's leading scorer Keion Bell, averaging 20.9 points per game coming into the contest, holding him to 17 points. Only eight of those came from the field as he shot just 4-of-14, and went 0-1 from three-point range. Most of Bell's points came on a 9-of-10 effort from the free throw line.
-Utah is now 5-2 all-time against Pepperdine, including a 2-1 record on the Waves' home floor.
-Utah closed the first half on a 12-4 run to cut the Pepperdine lead from 30-13 to a halftime score of 34-25. Utah never led in the contest.
-Utah has trailed at the half in six games this year, posting a 2-4 record in those games.
-Utah tied its season-high of 17 turnovers for the third time. They are 1-2 in those games.
