Utah Head Coach Boylen
"I thought our defense was really good, but we had ten turnovers in the second half and four of them were offensive fouls. We won the rebound game, but we gave it up on our end offensively."
On Tavita making his first start
"I wanted more defense on the floor and I want my bench to be a little more productive, so we started with Brown on the bench and Tavita playing. I like his [Tavita] defense, his toughness, his size and his ball handling and I thought Brown responded well to the change."
Junior Guard Carlon Brown
"I know it sounds cliché, but we need take it step-by-step, day-by-day and not look at what is ahead, but fix things as fast as we can before conference."
Illinois State Head Coach Tim Jankovich
"Playing as poorly as we did against Ohio helped us have a better understanding of where we are, where we need to go and how we think. It helped us become a better team."
"Our defense was locked in tonight. We were scoring and it was a great game. Even if we had not, I don't think we would have backed down. Our guys were really excited to play this game. The Huntsman Center is a big-time venue, Utah is a great team nationally so our guys were in a in a mindset to play tough."
"Having Austin [Hill] back from injury made a big difference for us tonight. He brings several ingredients to the table that aren't all that plentiful on our team. He's back earlier that he should have been. He willed it. He's very tough."
"This was a very physical game. That, and transition defense, was our biggest emphasis coming in, that we had to treat this game as a fight not a basketball game and I thought we definitely did that."
