Head Coach Jim Boylen
"I'm very thankful for this win, it was a terrific win. I have to thank my assistant coaches, they did a great job with the preparation and the game plan. And I have to thank my team for fighting through it."
"With five minutes left I told my team that we have been here before. We were in the same situation against Idaho and Seattle, we just had to make plays."
"I have great respect for Illinois, that is a great team."
"(Luka) Drca found his shooting touch in the second half, and that was huge. Carlon Brown trusted in the second half and we did the little things. We drove the ball, we shared the ball. We were much better in the second half, we made some great adjustments."
Freshman guard Shawn Glover
On the game-winning play:
"Jay Watkins just passed it to me and I floated it in there. That was very good court vision by Jay. That was my first game-winner ever."
On the importance of the win:
"We have been struggling and needed a win. That was a big one to get."
Junior forward Jay Watkins
On the game-winning play:
"I grabbed the rebound and I saw there was two or three seconds left. I was about to shoot it but I looked up and saw Glover."
On playing a ranked team in his first game back from injury:
"Illinois is a great team and we just had to treat this like another basketball game. I said when I got back (from injury) I would just do what I could do and play basketball."
On the team's second-half adjustments:
"We settled down and kept attacking. We did more on defense and then our offense came around."
