SALT LAKE CITY - Utah women's basketball coach Elaine Elliot has announced the signing of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Ciera Dunbar (guard, Elko HS, Nevada), Allison Gida (point guard, Ashland HS, Oregon), Brittany Knighton (forward, Oregon City HS, Oregon) and Amy Krommenhoek (guard, American Fork HS, Utah) will join Utah for the 2010-11 campaign.
"This is an exciting class," Elliott said. "An impact class. This class gives us a strong core for the future."
Knighton and Gida are both all-state players while Knighton and Krommenhoek each led their teams to state championships. Dunbar is a two-time all-area player.

2008 all-area first-team ... High Deseret League Honorable Mention 2008 ... averaged 11.1 points per game as a sophomore ... 2007-08 NIAA All-State Academic Team ... 2007 second-team all-area ... sat out the 2008-09 season with a knee injury.
Allison Gida

Honorable mention all-state in 2009 ... averaged 13.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and six assists per game as the Grizzlies finished fourth in the state ... 2009 first-team All-Southern Sky Conference ... scored 12 points for the Siskiyous team in the Mali Tribune High School All-Star Basketball Classic ... 2008 Southern Sky Conference Player of the Year ... 11.5 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals per game as Ashland was undefeated in conference in 2008 ... started as a freshman ... played at the same high school as current Ute Josi McDermott ... played AAU ball with the Northwest Elite Bluez ... an all-region water polo player ... also participated in the shot put and discus.

Helped lead Oregon City to the 6A State Championship in 2009 and a runner-up finish in 2008 ... named to The Oregonian 6A all-state first-team in 2007-08 (the only sophomore named to the team) ... averaged 14.4 points as a sophomore and was the Three Rivers League Player of the Year ... averaged 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in 2008-09 while recovering from a knee injury ... honorable mention all-league in 2008-09 ... plays AAU ball with Oregon City Black.

Helped lead American Fork to the 2009 5A State Championship ... averaged 11.5 points per game, 3.95 rebounds per game, 2.25 assists per game and made 43 3-point baskets for the Cavemen ... Salt Lake Tribune second-team all-state in 2008-09 and 2007-08 ... Deseret News second-team all-state in 2008-09, honorable mention in 2007-08 ... first-team all-region four ... plays AAU ball with Utah Flight ... also plays soccer and softball ... sister of former Ute All-American Julie Krommenhoek.
