Yu Named Mountain West Conference Diver of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced that junior Kwan Ling Yu (Yuen Long, Hong Kong) was the Diver of the Week for the week of November 10th.
Yu had a career day last Saturday when the University of Utah swimming and diving team hosted the New Mexico and Boise State diving teams. Yu scored 308.35 in the 3-meter dive, taking first place for the Utes. She also was second in the 1-meter dive, scoring 273.70. Both scores were career highs for Yu and qualified her for the 2010 NCAA Zone Regional meet.
Yu will next be competing in the 2010 East Asia Games in the platform dive this December.
"I'm excited about where [Yu] is at right now, so early in the season," said Utah head coach Greg Winslow. "She's progressed a lot since last year. You have to attribute that to her hard work and the work of our diving coach, Kelsey Patterson. We're excited for her to represent Hong Kong this December."
