SALT LAKE CITY - Academic all-conference honors were conferred on 88 University of Utah student-athletes today by the Mountain West Conference office. The latest MWC accolades recognize athletes who competed during the spring semester.
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
Utah's track and field team saw a school-best 21 student-athletes named to the academic all-conference team. That number is followed by women's swimming and diving (15), men's swimming and diving (14), baseball (10), softball (nine), men's basketball (six) and women's tennis (five). Men's tennis saw four athletes honored while men's golf and women's basketball each had two selections.
Distance runner and MWC Champion in the 10,000m Lauren Endersen paces all Utah athletes, recording a 4.0 grade-point average in biology. Utah saw 10 athletes turn in cumulative grade-point averages over 3.80.
