Minneapolis, Minn. - University of Utah swimmer Alison McInturff broke a Utah school and Mountain West Conference record in the 200 free on Friday at the 2007 NCAA Championships. McInturff swam a time of 1:46.56 in the event to place 10th overall in the preliminaries.
With her time, McInturff earns All-American honors in the 200 free and becomes the first Ute since 2000 to score points at the NCAA Championships. "It was just a tremendous effort by Alison today," comments Head Coach Michael Litzinger. "She surprised everybody with her time today, I think she even surprised herself. It was a great swim for her."
The finals of the 200 free will be held Friday night. Live stats can be found on the women's swimming page at ncaasports.com. Also live coverage of the event can be found on ESPN360 at espn.com.
