SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team beat both Boise State and San Diego State on Saturday. The Utes beat the Broncos by a score of 156-126 and the Aztecs by a score of 156-128. The Ute women won every event on the afternoon and improved their record to 3-3 (2-1 in MWC competition).
The Utes were led by Jessica Moon who won the 50 free (25.00), 100 free (53.86) and was on the winning 200 free relay (1:38.50), along with Kristina Evans, Annie VanLeeuwen and Jennifer Fredsall. Natalie Edge continued her impressive freshman campaign winning the 200 free with a time of 1:54.05 and also the 200 medley relay (1:47.42) with Shannon McQueen, Caitlin Tidwell and Fredsall.
McQueen added victories in the 100 breast (58.57) and the 500 free (5:07.26) for the Utes.
"It was a good meet overall for us," comments head coach Greg Winslow. "The women swam well all the way through and now we are looking forward to Las Vegas. I'm excited to see what our team can do from here."
