Utah Wins In Overtime Thriller

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Shona Thorburn's driving layup with 5.3 seconds left in overtime lifted No. 17 Utah to a 69-67 win over Wyoming on Saturday.
Kim Smith scored 26 points to lead Utah (21-6, 12-4 Mountain West), which overcame a double-digit second-half deficit.
A layup by Thorburn with 1:10 left gave the Utes their first lead of the second half at 59-58.

Erin Hicks scored three straight points to put Wyoming back up 61-59 with 13.3 seconds to go, but Utah's Julie Larsen hit a jumper and was fouled with 1.3 seconds left to the game at 61. She missed the free throw, sending the game into overtime.
Thorburn finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists for Utah.
Jodi Bolerjack led Wyoming (20-7, 10-6) with 17 points. Hanna Zavecz added 15, and Hicks and Michelle Taylor each scored 13 for the Cowgirls.
Bolerjack hit two 3-pointers and Zavecz hit one during a 17-4 Wyoming run that put the Cowgirls up 34-23 with 1:13 to go in the first half. Two free throws by Smith with 2.2 seconds left made the score 34-25 at the half.
The Utes have now won 30 straight games against Wyoming.
